Matthew 19:14

"Jesus said, 'Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of Heaven belongs to such as these."
~Matthew 19:14

Though I am not the most religious person, I really felt like my relationship with God strengthened when I became pregnant. When Rob had mentioned that he wanted to name Matthew- Matthew- I thought about and prayed about it, and I somehow felt that it was the perfect name. Little did I know that it would be. After almost losing my precious baby boy and being faced with the certain possibility that he will be our only child, I am so happy that we gave him his beautiful name. I created this blog so that I can share pictures and stories about our beautiful baby. I guess I do brag a little about him-- but I can't help it.

So, I received some pretty heartbreaking news this week, and I was pretty upset and crying while Matthew was happily playing in his exersaucer. I don't know about everyone else, but if I haven't cried in a long time then the tears start flowing and don't want to stop. In fact, I think the last time I cried was in January when Matthew had his surgery. I was feeling really sad, and my sweet baby boy suddenly looked up at me and gave me the biggest, most beautiful smile. He then looked at me with those big, beautiful, brown eyes like he wanted to say "what's wrong mommy, you have me-- don't I make you happy?" I looked back at him and immediately started to pull myself together. I truly felt a lot better just seeing how much Matthew loves me. This is just one of the many moments that I just feel so much love in my heart that I could just burst! I can't believe that on Saturday he will be 7 1/2 months old.

How can these pictures not make you smile...

Matthew's new spring hat. (We're being optimistic that the snow will go away soon.) Matthew just needs a fishing pole and a bucket of worms.

Matthew loves taking a bath. I couldn't resist taking this picture. I am such an embarrassing mother!! It's all my mom's fault!!

Karin,

Love those pictures...I hope everything is okay. I haven't had a chance to talk to Molly in a while with her opening and all. I am worried about you! Email me (if you want to chat)...

Hope everything is okay! I love that you named Matthew, Matthew. That is one of my favorite books out of the Bible. He is such a sweet blessing and I can't wait to meet and hold him in just a short 5 weeks! Yeah!!

Love you,
