I wanted to give a quick update on our little man, Matthew... He is almost into the crawling stage. He is constantly on his hands and knees and wiggles, but isn't quite crawling. In fact, it's more of a scooting. Well, he kind of wiggles/crawls backwards and somehow ends up halfway under the couch. He has started to pull himself up though. My mom thinks he may skip the crawling and start walking instead. We'll see-- it is quite common though. He is also finally sitting up on his own for long periods of time. We were worried because he would topple over and go onto his belly. He could sit up unsupported, but he hated to sit up. Finally, his 5th tooth just broke through his bottom gums. It's crazy how fast all these teeth have started coming in. When he was 6 1/2 months old we noticed the first tooth. Now he is 8 months, 1 week old, and we can see 5 teeth! Aaah! No wonder he has been a little cranky and very drooly!
A few days ago Matthew and I decided to get into Daddy's mousse. We came up with a new hairstyle for Matthew. I am calling it "the fauxhawk." I wanted to give him a mohawk without shaving the sides of his hair, so I just moussed up his hair. Robert came home and was like 'what did you do to my son?' See, you can play "dress up" with boys too! (Molly, doesn't this bring back memories of our days of playing "beauty parlour" together when we were kids?!) I added some pictures below. I think he's adorable, but we won't be leaving the house with this hairdo.
Sitting in mommy's chair that she sat in when she was a little girl. What a big boy!
Standing up on his own. Can I go outside mommy?
